The study of the competency model is one of the critical issues of HRM research now. But in China, the special research on the competency model of experiential trainers has not been done. Through the behavioral event interview with 30 experiential trainers in Chongqing, the competency model of experiential trainers in ChongQing was established and validated effective. Following the model, a questionnaire was established to investigate 259 experiential trainers. And the result of the test has been analyzed. The initial conclusion of this research is:Firstly, through the behavioral event interview, the competency model of experiential trainers in ChongQing include 16 factors such as: Enthusiasm, Achievement Origination, Concern for Quality, Initiative, Information Seeking, Impact and Influence, Relationship Building, Interpersonal Understanding, Innovation, Flexibility, Developing Others, Team Leadership, Conceptual Thinking, Professional knowledge and Analytical Thinking, Customer Service Origination.Secondly, the questionnaire on the competency model of experiential trainers in ChongQing designed by this research is of validity and reliability.Thirdly, the method of the explore and examine factor analysis found that the competency model of experiential trainers in ChongQing has 3 dimensions:(1) Achievement Capacity which includes 5 factors such as: Enthusiasm, Achievement Origination, Concern for Quality, Initiative and Information Seeking.(2) Impact Capacity which includes 5 factors such as: Impact and Influence, Relationship Building, Interpersonal Understanding, Innovation and Flexibility.(3) Leadership Capacity which includes 2 factors such as: Developing Others and Team Leadership.
