Environmental signage system is a practice-oriented discipline. Its success is based on the way how it comes out to users. An excellent concept is just a beginning. Design development links Dream to Reality. A scientific way of designing environmental signage system needs a good plan and schedule, effective way of designing, smooth relationship between the partners, sound management and control processes, all in search of potential creativity. Through analyzing the design structure and steps in the design development of a signage system, this paper investigates into the questions of what are required in design and how to solve the problems. Through real case studies, the author tries to look for the meaning of redesign, and gives suggestions on future studies.
