Research On Environmental Signage And Wayfinding System Of Xinjiang International Grand Bazaar

The functions of the signage and wayfinding system are dual. The excellent signage and wayfinding system not only has the specific wayfinding function, but also shows the quality of site and the culture meaning of the environment.In the project, the international grand bazaar which is the famous traveling site in Urumqi is viewed as the research object; and the famous traveling city is the target of city developing and building for Urumqi. The thesis accords with the design orientation of the signage and wayfinding system for "Xinjiang Window", also realizes the wayfinding function, and builds the design concept that shows the association of the region's feature and international concept. The thesis exploits the characteristic and design principle of the signage and wayfinding system in the traveling sites. In the thesis, the systemic running process in the signage and wayfinding system of international grand bazaar is analyzed. And the vision elements of the material showed format are studied and discussedIn the thesis, first of all, the purpose, content, and methods are presented; and the realistic signature of the research is illustrated based on the present domestic research and the present designing and building of local signage and wayfinding system in the traveling environment. Next, the developing signage and wayfinding system of Urumqi is exploited and the existed realistic problems of the signage and wayfinding system in city traveling environment are presented. And, combined with the present development of city traveling in Xinjiang, the signage and wayfinding system of the international grand bazaar can be designed with the right orientation. Next, the environmental attribute of the object is analyzed and the wayfinding information is used to classify. And, the design principles are set up and design methods are discussed. Next, the design element of the signage and wayfinding system in the international grand bazaar is analyzed and regional culture is developed in the signage and wayfinding system. Finally, The thesis is concluded and given the future work.
