A New Model Based On Qfd For Product Design And Quality Control

When dealing with the customer complains about their products, many companies find that about 70% defects in product are design failure and the other 30% are caused by manufacturing problems, shipping problems or something else. Meanwhile, a viewpoint that product design is the origin of product quality is presented by many quality management experts based on several years researching and statistics analyzing. According to this, the companies and manufactures put more and more energy to improve the product design quality.On the other hand, Quality Function Deployment (QFD) has gained many achievements in quality management of industry product. QFD is considered as the effective tool for companies to satisfy the customer requirements.In this kind of situation, quality control model in product design based on QFD is proposed. The model is made up of two parts, the former one is guidelines for product design, the latter one is the quantitative evaluation for product design. To be specific, the model includes 10 parts: required quality analyzing, product design quality element analyzing, correlation matrix of required quality and quality element constructing, importance degree of quality element calculating, product component element analyzing, correlation matrix of quality element and component element constructing, importance degree of component element calculating,, scoring in correlation matrix of required quality and quality element, scoring in correlation matrix of quality element and component element, design scheme evaluating. And then, the model is applied in fine decoration residence design. The quality control in the product design and the quantitative evaluation for the design are done in the model applying process.The main achievements of this thesis include: (1) Quality control model in product design based on QFD is proposed; (2) A quantitative evaluation method for product design based on HOQ is constructed; (3) Practical guidelines for fine decoration residence in real estate industry are put forward.
