With the development of our economy and society, the environment from both insides and outsides of the enterprises has become more and more complicated and the market competition has also become fiercer and fiercer. How to meet customer needs to the maximum and improve the quality of products become the key to winning the competition. Quality Function Deployment (QFD) is a methodical approach, the thoughts of the customers can be converted into the design, manufacturing and the course of production of the products and services with the help of it. QFD helps to launch the customer needs by the process of technology transition using a bidimensional matrix to maintain the production and service quality, thus, customer needs can be meeted.Started with the analysis of the reduction box which is often used in engineering industry, QFD is applied to the productdesign process of the reduction box in the project. First, the basic concept and process of QFD is presented in detail, the basic structure of House Of Quality (HOQ) which is the core of QFD is also discussed, and the ideas of the concrete implementation and quantification of QFD are preliminarily studied. Afterwards, the collection of user demand information of reduction box is accomplishd by means of the two survey methods: oral questioning and questionnaire, next, the user demand information which has been collected is analysised and classified using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), thus, the reduction box user demand hierarchical graph and the weights of user demand are obtained. With the help of professional software QFD2000, the product planning HOQ of reduction box is founded, the input information of reduction box HOQ and the data process work of dependent items in HOQ is completed, and the matrix between the user demand of reduction box and quality characteristics, the correlation matrix of quality characteristics are obtained, meanwhile, the competing assessment of user demand and quality characteristics are accomplished. Based on the information of the product planning HOQ of reduction box which has been founded, the quality characteristics parallel optimization model of reduction box is founded by the quality characteristics parallel optimization technology and the model is solved using the program of Simplex Method by C++, then the quality characteristics target improving rate of reduction box is obtained. Finally, the project preliminarily tries the components planning, the process planning and the quality control planning of reduction box in the guidance of the quality characteristics target improving rate of reduction box. As a result, the project explores the effective shortcut of QFD application in the development process of reduction box and provides a scientific method for meeting customer needs to the maximum as well as assuring high quality of the products.
