Automobile parts industry is one of China's strategic and important pillar industries, which has promoted the sustained development of China's economy. With the fast development of China's automotive industry and automobile parts industry, more and more multinational companies have established or are establishing their Asia Pacific (AP) or even global sourcing centers in China. Global allocation of resource caused by globalization is rapidly proceeding in China's market. Multinational company A is one of the tire 1 auto parts suppliers, who has promoted"global sourcing"and allocated resource globally.This thesis introduces the more and more important position of China in global auto industry and the definition and importance of LCC in terms of global sourcing firstly. SWOT analysis on China auto parts suppliers is also done. In the following, the organization chart, sourcing mode, global sourcing and supplier development strategy, etc of multinational company A's AP purchasing center in Shanghai are introduced and analyzed in detail. In addition, through the introduction of coordination and information system among AP, North America (NA) and Europe, the uniformity of sourcing strategy in global range can be seen. Finally, with an analysis on the global sourcing strategy of multinational company A, this thesis investigates the importance of global sourcing strategy for multinational company A and its development trend in the future, which may provide some valuable reference for local auto parts manufacturers to develop their improvement strategy.
