Empirical Research On Foreign Direct Investment And Dalian Economic Growth Relationship

FDI is one of the important factors which influence the global economic growth. FDI has great an effect on domestic investment, employment, technology progress, and export trade, balance of payment, etc. Scientific research and estimation of the impact of FDI on local economy is an important issue for economics.In recent years, some domestic scholars put the empirical research on the relationship between foreign direct investment and the economic growth in more developed provinces and cities, but do little empirical research on dalian which has the superiority of resources and place in the middle area. Therefore, conducting the research from the theory and the reality in dalian is of extremely vital significance to the improvement of investment environment and the formulation and implementation of correct foreign investment policy which could improve the quality of investment promotion performance.Through overall analysis of investment condition, points out that the introduction of foreign direct investment in dalian has grown steadily, but compares with many developed provinces and cities, dalian has the certain disparity, emphasized that it is the inevitable choice through expanding the channel of bringing in foreign capital and improving the investment environment in dalian. Further, basing on Eviews 5.0 , then carried on the empirical analysis of the relationship between GDP and FDI in the city of dalian through the co-integration test and granger casual relation test, and established the error correction model. The analysis results indicated that they have co-relational relation, the different lag-causal relation and the long-term stable relation, pointed out the vital significance of the growth of FDI. Finally, then put forward the effective proposal to improving the investment promotion performance in dalian.
