Credit risk is one of the most ancient and important risks of commercial banks, which affects economic life of our modern society directly, and also affects macroscopic economical decision and development. With the enlargement of business scope, credit risk shows new form. Although it is a long time on the research of credit-risk management in both domestic and overseas, credit risk the biggest risk of commercial banks is still key point each country studies. Comparing with international banks, Chinese commercial banks still adopt traditional methods to manage their credit risk, and they just start to use numeral forms. So it is necessary to research foreign advanced experiences, methods and thoughts on risk management, to improve the level of ours and promote the development of our banks.This paper starts from the concept of credit-risk management, and introduces the evolution of it in "Basel Accord". After analyzing credit-risk managements in America, Germany, Japan and Singapore, it points out the problems existing in our country. At last, it puts forward suggestions on how to strength our credit-risk management on the base of foreign experiences and our actual situation. This article has three parts in all:The first part consists of the first two chapters. It mainly explains some basic concepts relative to credit risk, expounds the origin of credit risk from the theory of dissymmetrical information, and introduces the concept of credit-risk managements at the same time. Combining with "Basel Accord", it emphases the changes of relative regulations on how to measure credit risk, including two methods—Standardized Approach and IRB Approach in "The New Basel Accord".The second part is the third chapter. It explains international commercial banks' managements on credit risk, selecting four representative countries, America, Germany, Japan and Singapore. It brings great enlightenments to us after analyze their advanced experiences and methods.The third part contains the fourth chapter and the fifth chapter. It analyzes the huge credit risk our commercial banks facing at present, combining with our actual situation, and find out the defects through comparing with foreign advanced managements. Besides, it concludes experiences worth of studying. At last, it gives some suggestions on both interior and exterior two aspects according to our commercial banlcs' present conditions of credit-risk management.
