Textile goods is one of the important commercial goods in the international trade. Since long time, our country's textile output volume and the amount of foreign trade value stay at No. 1 position in the world. As China's textile industry is highly relying on the international trade, manufacturing as per order and exporting become one of the most important business patterns for our country's garment factories. And the production order become crucial for the many of textile and garment exporting company.The production and operation system is made up of a set of processes, yet only the processes that can define the organization's goal to exist would be the core processes. The previous studies proved that only the companies who perform outstandingly in their core business process management would outshine the others in the competition of the profession. Therefore, By using the way of thinking as: to recognize the process, to analyze the process and to improve the process, and by taking the core business process management as topic, the article have a practical and thorough study about the A company's core business process management, that is the production order management, and concluded a list of detail proposals about how to improve the management. The concerned A garment exporting company is doing both the manufacturing and exporting business and is located at Canton area.The article is divided into 4 parts. In the first part, briefly discussed the international and domestic environment for the garment exporting company's operation and pointed out that at the time where there's no or less import quota restriction, opportunities and challenges are both existing and the competition become more vigorous. Then, in the second part, after the introduction of the basic theory for the production and operation management and the business process management, the article discussed the existing situation of A company's production order process management. It includes the product development, purchasing and stock management of the raw materials, the plan and control of the order process, the quality management for the process, etc. In the last, have a thorough discuss about the problems of the existing order process management and ways about how to improve and optimize the process. It includes ways to improve the purchasing information system, to restructure the organizational structure, to evaluate the material suppliers, to measure and plan the process by using the industrial engineering method, to optimize the production process plan and control, to introduce the advanced flow-manufacturing way: one piece flow-unit manufacturing, and finally, set up the indexes to evaluate the production process performance thus to evaluate and improve the process continuously.It is necessary to point out that A company's case is special for the practical study of the company's core business process management. However, it can also be representative and general for the garment exporting companies who is having the similar business pattern and operation process. Thus, the author hope that the study can give some ideas and references for the consideration of all the garment exporting companies about how to change the old traditional management way and how to improve their internal operation management level.
