This research makes inquiry of 300 receptionists chosen from several star hotels in Nanjing with self-written "questionnaire on degree of satisfaction with receptionists of star hotels". And before that the author has styled available research documents. To find a more reasonable explanation for the questionnaire results, the researcher made deeper face-to face interviews.The author draws the following conclusions by an inclusive survey and data analysis:1,There are mainly six factors——management level, the work itself, expectationfrom work, payback from work, working strength and human relationships——thataffect the degree of satisfaction of receptionists in star hotels.2,There are no great differences in the degree of satisfaction of receptionists from different star hotels.3,Great differences lie in degree of satisfaction in receptionists of star hotels with different ages, positions, length of service. There are notably different degrees of satisfaction among receptionists with various education received and departments while no such differences between male and female receptionists.With above-mentioned conclusion and interview with some hotel managers and specialists of hotel management, the researcher offers several solutions and suggestions to improve the degree of satisfaction among hotel staffs such as the management thoughts of "profit of staffs first", perfecting the payment system, improving on-the-job training, inter-communications, career life planning of staffs, reasonable encouragement system.
