Since reformation and opening to the outside world, urban transportation demand of KunMing increased rapidly. The number of vehicles owned and tripsin cities increase faster than the development of traffic facilities. As a result, urban traffic brings out some external problems, such as congestion and environmental pollution. Thus traditional development mode of transportation is not sustainable.Under the guidance of sustainable development, the plan, construction and management of urban traffic are very important to solve the problem of congestion and environmental deterioration and strengthen the traffic impact on social and economic development.Guided by the city traffic sustainable development theory, the thesis has set up a comprehensive evaluation target system on KunMing city traffic sustainable development.Based on that, the thesis has drawn the KunMing city traffic sustainable development level, using the method of rank order analysis in Comprehensive evaluation.Then, the thesis analyze the city trafic of KunMing in four aspects of city trafic function ,society economic adaptability, influence on environment and take advantage of resources. The thesis has fond the main reasons that influence KunMing city traffic sustainable development. Finally, the thesis has offered the main proposals to realize KunMing city trafic sustainable development.The thesis is made up of four parts: The first part is the outline; the Second part is the comment on sustainable development of the city traffic; the third part is the city traffic sustainable development comprehensive evaluation index analyze and count in KunMing? The fourth part is proposals to realize city traffic sustainable development.
