The competition of different industry is increasingly furious, and the demands of consumers are become more and more meticulous. So how to make the effect market segmentation and choose the proper market is becoming a task in today's market survey. In the evolvement course that the market segmentation is recognized as the kernel concept of stratagem, many scholars in and out of country have made a great deal of research of market segmentation which emphasizes particularly on academic research ,but there isn't enough direction in practice.This paper is separated to three chapters: chapter one is the simple introduction of segmentation. Seeing about the history and development of market segmentation starting with the basic concept of market segmentation to sort the market segmentation and finally give the rule of effective market segmentation. Chapter two is the discussion of applied technique of market segmentation. First, pointing out four segmentation gist as below: the population and geography characteristic, psychology characteristic; living mode, product attitude; behalf pursuing characteristic, consumption action and value. These gist are not insolated but correlative. Second expatiating the applied statistic analysis technique and the characteristic of each means, and then pointing out their advantage and disadvantage. Finally discussing the other applied technique problems. Chapter three is demonstration analysis. Introducing the course of market segmentation and applied technique by an example.This paper based on the pioneer's research and application, and then summarized the applied technique in the course of market segmentation. The practicability is the character of this paper. Because of the limitation of time and the mastery of background knowledge of marketing, this paper does not make the further discussion of applied technique which is the shortage of itself and also the endeavor...
