In recent years, as China's rapid economic development, the automobile production and sales, which continue to climb quickly, have become a pillar industry of China's national economy. The rapid development of auto industry has brought great opportunities for mold industry. Many vehicle plants launch the accelerating pace of new models, boosting the rapid development of automobile mold manufacturing. At present, four domestic mold factories have capacity of 200 million production hours, and produce 100 million Yuan in total production value. In addition to the four giants, there are another more than 10 companies with annual production value over 50 million Yuan. Together with other small factories, the whole production capacity of mold business is estimated more than 30 billion Yuan.Now China's auto mold companies have made great progress in design and manufacturing technology. The gap between Chinese companies and international famous companies is rapidly narrowing in equipment, computer application, and other major hardware. But there is still obvious difference between Chinese companies and international level in many areas, such as mold material, standard parts supply, precision machining, design standards, product testing and so on.The level of cost management in manufacturing business management in China is a major issue. This article describes the cost management under the latest theoretical development and discusses the excellent practice of famous enterprises all over the world in cost management. And then, this paper takes Saikeli Auto Mould Co. as a example to show how the Chinese mold factories to implement cost management, so as to provide a useful reference for China's auto mold companies to effectively reduce costs and enhance the competitiveness of products in the market.
