With the great progress of people's living level, the domestic and foreign demand and consumption of flowers have increased rapidly. After decades of reform and development, the flower industry entered a stage of rapid development, and there is a basic balance between supply and demand of the flowers products. However, some new problemes have come out, for exemple, the quality of flowers produts is not good, the industry systeme is not perfect, the industrial chain is short, the informations are unenlightened, the farmers grow the flowers blindly etc., which led to bad decisions, slow growth of the income of the famers and bad performance in the industrial competition. In order to solve these problemes, we must embark on a broader, more scientific development road, and planning a new development model. Through the study of industrial development at home and abroad, the industries with competitive advantage usually have a suitable self-development characteristic of clusters. At this moment, the industrial cluster studies mostly concentrated in the industrial field, while theoretical research and practical studies of the flower industry clusters are relatively rare. Therefore, we hope to find a way for the development of flower industry through the researches of the cluster of industries. The present thesis tries to explore this modern flower industry development through the researche of this industrial cluster of Kunming flower.Kunming Flower has a reputation of "mother of gardens", it is currently the largest production base of fresh-cut flowers, and well-known both outside and inside. Relying on a unique year-round spring weather, abundant species resources, a long history of cultivation and adequate and cheap labor, Kunming Flower attracted a lot of investors, associations and enterprises, and also many foreign companies in a large number of cooperation, which has greatly contributed to the rapid development of flower industry. From zero to existence, from the low towards to high-end, from weak to strong, Kunming Flower is inseparable from the formation and development of industrial clusters. There is a certain distance between the developpement of the and the foregin flower industry. Kunming flower industry has neither a long history, neither a great dimension, the status of the flower industry clusters is not enough, human resources is in short, the system is not perfect. But from another angle, the flower industry in Kunming has a relatively unique location and excellent resources, which gives Kunming flower industry a great potential in the industrial cluster environment to push the regional economie, improve the performance competitive, increase the international market share and brand awareness.This thesis tries to find out the formation and mechanism of the industrial clusters in Kunming and the causes of the elements of industrial clusters by studying the formation mechanism, drive mechanism, the development model and the evolution, to find out advantages and bottlenecks in the development of flower industry by studying the driving factors of the developpement of the Kunming industry clustor, to search a favorable model of the developpement of the Kunming industry cluster, to rearche the tendance of the evolution, to analyse the internal mechanisms and constraints, and to give some propositions on the further enhance of the flower industry in innovation capability and competitiveness.The study of this topic in Kunming flowers will have important theoretical significance and practical significance to enhance the overall competitive, and also to provide some ideas and experience to the cluster development of other industries.This thesis argues that:the clustering effect highlighted by Kunming flower industry can quickly promote the healthy development of the industry, solve the relative disadvantage of industry, accelerate the development of local industrial clusters, which is an important way to improve the international competitiveness; It's important to promote effective inter-firm trust and cooperation, to enhance the innovative capability of the flower industry in Kunming and to promote the local economic growth and market share through the investment and exchanges between enterprises.
