Research On Competitiveness Of Tourism Industrial Cluster Of Four Seasons Flower Valley Of Beijing

This paper builds the appropriate evaluation model of competitiveness for representative valley which has the tourism industrial cluster features by literature analysis, field surveys, questionnaires, interviews and other methods. Taking Four Seasons Flower Valley of Beijing as an example, this paper explores the state of the tourism industry cluster development in Beijing valley economy in order to provide reference for the development of other valleys. The following is the main content and conclusions of this research:(1) Runs through and summaries the researches of valley economy. By analyzing these literature, the article summarizes the characteristics of Valley economy. With ecological protection as premise, aiming to drive local development, Valley economy is industrial economic belt by unified development which takes natural valley of mountain as unit. Meanwhile, the paper finds that most valleys take tourism guide as development model.(2) Summaries researches of tourism industrial cluster especially competitiveness and its evaluation method. Tourism industrial cluster can build multi-firm integration industry chain, result in the division of labor effect, aggregate resources to stimulate innovation and create tourism brand. As tourism industrial cluster will play a key role in enhancement of local competitiveness, this article evaluates the competitiveness of tourism industrial cluster in order to know the limitation of current stage in development. From these researches, we know that the evaluation methods are mainly qualitative analysis represented by diamond model and quantitative analysis represented by GEM model.(3) Researches competitiveness of tourism industrial cluster of Four Seasons Flower Valley of Beijing. This article selects Four Seasons Flower Valley as the case which has basic characteristics of tourism industrial cluster. The research takes the qualitative analysis by diamond model and quantitative analysis represented by GEMS model which derives from GEM model. The result shows that Four Seasons Flower Valley is slightly higher than the average level of Beijing but still has no competitive advantage. With the tourist survey results, recommendations are made for four aspects of factors.(4) Combines the situation of valley economy development, this paper analyzes the competitiveness evaluation framework of tourism industrial cluster of valley in the government-led phase. After comparative analysis of all kinds of competitiveness evaluation methods, this paper suggests GEMS evaluation framework, which improves the status of government and environmental considerations, and is more suitable for the geographic scope of the valley, as well as more convenient to build index relying on the industry of valley. Meanwhile, the paper constructs a set of indexes for valley economy.
