The visualization of three dimensional seismic data according to the needs of geophysical work which is based on three dimensional seismic data processing uses rich graphic and image functions of modern computer to display three dimensional seismic data obtained.This paper is researched and developed under OpenGL graphics software development environment with a series of functions.According to the characteristic of three dimensional seismic data, such essential technologies are studied as magnanimous data interpolation processing, dimensional camber stratal surface analysis and application, spatial data volume analysis and so on.Firstly, the research status and development trend of three dimensional geological modeling of seismic data are analyzed. Secondly, Several spatial interpolation methods are analyzed which change discrete point data sets into regular grid data.Kriging method and an improved inverse distance weighted averaged method are used to realize interpolation.Then contour maps are given by calculating equivalent points and tracing the contour with the rectangular data. Contour maps are filled with contour filling algorithm based on vector.Finally, an experimental system has been developed to verify the work of the previous technologies.Two dimensional and three dimensional contour maps are shown in form of legend of corresponding grid maps in order to analyze and understand the distribution of seismic data easily. Three dimension strata model and volume model with profile and slice display are also given.The relationship of each layers are easy to see by rotating, scaling and translation.The grid map and contour map are drawn prominently. Dynamic single and multi-level display reflect the formation of the structural characteristics from various angles and sides.Three dimensional seismic data with profile and slice display which are important for studying geological structure clearly show the shape of geological structure and longitudinal changes.
