During the copper extraction process in Hydrometallurgy, the cuprum ion concentration in extraction raffinate reflects actual extraction effect directly. In practical production, the cuprum ion concentration is guided by experience of field workers, that is, the field workers should judge the cuprum ion concentration according to their observations on the color of extraction raffinate. This method has high requirement on workers'personal experience, and easily causes a great error.Based on the background of extraction process in Hydrometallurgy, a soft-sensing method of cuprum ion concentration based on machine-vision is researched thoroughly in this thesis, aiming at the problem of bigger error in manual judgment. First, the paper presents the hardware designing of image sampling system, especially considering setting of light and image camera; next, sample extraction raffinate images, and reduce noise that was produced by devices and environment through medium filtering; next, transform the image to HSV color space, and change the wavelet coefficients of the value image to realize illumination compensation; next, segment the image using OTSU algorithm to obtain the object region; then, get the Hue,Saturation,Value of extraction raffinate images; last, establish mathematical model based on partial least-square algorithm, to predict cuprum ion concentration. The simulation results indicate that the soft sensing of cuprum ion concentration based on machine vision can predict the cuprum ion concentration of extraction raffinate with good effect.
