3D terrain visualization has been concerned increasingly recentlly, because it has wide application in many fields. With the development and innovation of Computer Scinence,Computer Graphic and modern Mathematics theory,we can get the Reality 3D terrain. As the requst-ment of the Visualization of 3D Highway ,we get the 3D visualization of terrain by the Major data provided by Measurement of designers and Terrain texture satellite photos. In order to generate the more realistic 3D terrain, the model use the irregular triangular surface approximation and high-resolution satellite photos as the ground texture. At the same time it is impossible in computer calculate. So we deal with texture photos by unit ones and the large photo was divided into small units. We focus on the research of the way to deal with terrain data points of irregular triangle unit block. We divided the triangle into Small-scale regional units in XY plane. Then we deal with the massive data successful. At last,we get the 3D terrain by transform the terrain units in accordance with the latest view change. In this paper,we use the VC++6.0 and OpenGL 3D graphics library. By setting system parameters ,terrain model mapping, perspective transformation, model transformation, viewport Transform achieve the visualization of 3D terrain.Furthermore,we use the technology the the list display and the texture object to obtain a high image quality. At the same time, the research of the 3D terrain can get a wider range of topics, such as:accurate calculation of the display area, the terrain classification shows, redundant data collation and so on. They will provide strong support for the research on visualizing 3D terrain.
