Hail disaster is a severe weather disaster which is caused by strong convective weather, although it appears less extensive, lasts a short time, but it has great effects on agriculture, electricity, telecommunications, transportation etc .The eliminating hail artificially is an important means to reduce hail disaster, the reliable forecasting of hail cloud is the premise of effective implementation of hail eliminates artificially. In order to improve forecasting reliability for hail clouds, the characteristics of sound , light, electromagnetic radiation of hail cloud lightning are analyzed the receiving and processing methods of lightning signal induced by the hail cloud are studied. The multi-parameters remote sensing methods for hail clouds are proposed. The prototype system for remote sensing of hail clouds is designed and introduced. The experiment results with this system are analyzed. The main work of the thesis is as fellows:First, The process of hail cloud formation, the physical characteristics of hail clouds and the distinction between hail clouds and non-hail clouds are introduced, the characteristics of sound , light, electromagnetic radiation of hail cloud lightning are analyzed , the extraction and identification methods of the characteristic signal of hail cloud lightning is obtained., and the multi-parameter remote sensing method of hail clouds is developed, the method for determining the distance of cloud body with the time delay of sound and light are also given.Secondly, based on above research, the measuring parameters for remote sensing of hail clouds are obtained, and the prototype system for remote sensing of hail clouds is designed and introduced with multi-parameters of sound, light, electromagnetic radiation of hail cloud lightning. The flows of signals acquisition, processing, judgments and position of hail clouds are introduced and analyzed. Finally, the some functions of prototype system are tested by experiment of lightning, the experiment results are analyzed and have good agreement with the results in some reference papers, and the functions of prototype system are initially validated.
