TD-SCDMA has been regarded as the most important breakthrough in the communication of China. Some key technologies are introduced in TD-SCDMA system. These key technologies include time division duplex, uplink synchronization, smart antenna, joint detection, dynamic channel allocation and baton handover, which improve the system capacity and performance a lot.Network performance is analyzed by predicting coverage and capacity with RNP tool. Simulation will help to verify whether the planned coverage, capacity and QoS can be met with the current network development and parameter settings. A good RNP tool helps planners fulfill the given criteria with minimal capital investment. The key technologies should be implemented in RNP tool for TD-SCDMA. The key technologies of the TD-SCDMA system are analyzed and how to complete the key technologies in RNP tool is discussed in the proposed paper. So tool developer and RNP engineers can refer to it if necessary.Author made full use of the existing GSM/GPRS and WCDMA RNP tool during working. The functions were compared and diffierences of them are concluded, which help to ensure which function should be implemented in the TD-SCDMA RNP tool. After analyzing all the key technologies, smart antenna, joint detection and DCA are decided to be implemented in the tool.How the key technology work in TD-SCDMA system was analyzed and how they were realized in the existing tool were intrucduced in the paper. The new ways to improve the RNP tool was provided, which will slove the problem and storage of the arithmetic in existing tool.A RNP tool protocol is introduced in the first section of the proposed paper. The key technology of TD-SCDMA is introduced and their impaction will be analyzed in second part. Then it goes to how to fulfill the key technologies in existing RNP tool and the direction of how to make the tool more effective and corrective were pointed. At last the ways to improve the RNP tool were provided in the paper. And the evaluation of the ways were provided, which makes the papar more perfect.In general, this paper aims at helping RNP engineering and tool development for TD-SCDMA. But being short of large-scale TD-SCDMA practice, there must be some disadvantages at future network building. It should be improved by future work.
