The Research And Development Of Campus-query System Based On Gis

With the country's educational investment continuously increasing and the rapid development of the construction of colleges and universities, the establishment of campus geographic information systems has become a trends for modern college planning and management.The paper firstly summaries the status of Geographic Information System(GIS) and the fundamentals of GIS, explores the necessity of the establishment of campus geographic information query system. Secondly, we studied the overall design of campus query system, including the system platform selection, overall system architecture, functional design, interface design, database design, spatial data acquisition and attribute data collection, etc.; Thirdly, the methods and procedures of system implementation has been described. With the MapObjects component and Visual Basic 6.0, we initially established a Geographic Information Query System of East China Jiao Tong University, which solved the problem of unable to deal with the spatial data of traditional campus management information system and provided a modern management platform for campus development. Finally, we discuss the direction of further research.
