With the development of social productivity, the accuracy of time synchronization for intersystem becomes very important in the field of information, communication,industrial automation,IM&C,electricity etc. Along with the development and applied universalities of the Internet technology, network clock synchronization technology also develops rapidly, this paper mainly talks about high precision clock synchronization technology of network.The NTP is widely used at present, and the timestamp is get from application layer, it can only achieve millisecond-level synchronization accuracy. After research on the limitation of NTP, a high-precision synchronization protocol IEEE1588 (PTP) is introduced. The timestamp of the PTP is achieved by hardware; it also has some advantage such as high synchronous precision, few resources and easy matches. Firstly, a hardware platform is established with ARM-core processor (LPC2468) Ethernet transceiver IC (DP83640), The system use the simple network topology structure which does not go through the switch or router between master and slave of the system. Secondly, The UDP/IP protocol stack and PTP synchronization algorithm is accomplished base on the platform, and the implementation of this protocol is described in details. Thirdly,the test platform is established, compared with the 1pps plus signal which comes from the PTP clock of master and slaver system, the performance of clock synchronization accuracy is tested and analyzed. It shows us the time synchronization accuracy base on the Ethernet can achieve microsecond-level. The expected goal is successfully achieved...
