The MIMO technology can produces several independent parallel channels in the space and transmits the multi-channel data streams, which increases the frequency spectrum efficiency in the case of no increasing of the system bandwidth as well as raises system transmission speed effectively. In MIMO system, if we use adaptive multi-antenna selection, we can be fully taken into account multi-user, multi-antenna diversity and multiplexing characteristics in MIMO systems.Firstly, we introduce the basic principle of MIMO system and the pre-coding technique in this essay, then detailed studies the MIMO fundamental model, the transmission diversity and the spatial multiplying, the MIMO volumetric analysis and so on. We has researched the linear/nonlinear pre-coding technique, and carries on the multi-antenna selection based on one kind of novel pre-coding technique.In view of application scope for different antenna selection, we has analyzed the system gain brought by only receiving antenna selection and transmitting-receiving combined antennal selection in the ideal situation. In the MIMO downlink system, we have proposed two kind of improvement's low complexity's MIMO multi-antenna selection algorithm, and based on this, we further proposed one kind of superior decomposed transmit-receive multi-antenna selection algorithm. The Matlab performance simulation demonstrates that the proposed improvement algorithms reduce the order of complexity and are able to maximum approach the system performance. Meanwhile, a hardware and software combined platform was experimented base on the TI TMS320C6416T DSP core. By the careful design of PCB and circuit practice, we modeled a practical MIMO channel and tested the channel performance.
