It's convergence that is the inevitable trend of NGN( Next Generation Network) evolvement and development. To achieve converged network and fusion business, user profile data fusion is basic premise and factor. GUR( Generic User Register) as an inevitable development trend of network convergence has become a hot topic in the domain of network architecture, network convergence and business integration about NGN. The IMS( IP Multimedia Subsystem) that the 3GPP first puts forward is considered as the core of the next generation converged network technology by the standards standard organizations and operation business, equipment manufacturers. The concept of user profile database in telecommunication network is introduced from GSM network. The centralized storage of user profile database in the HLR( Home Location Register) greatly enhanced the ability to provide the business. This shows the important role of the user profile database in the network. So, IMS network also introduced HSS( Home Subscriber Server), which plays the role of user profile database in the future converged network.Currently, the research of user profile database in converged network environment is also at beginning stage, and the research of relative equipment is less.The task of this thesis comes from the special project of National High-Tech Research and Development Plan of China. This thesis designs and practises a new kind of HSS suitable for converged network, with high availability, distributed, scalable, load balance. The main contents and contributions of the thesis are as follows:1. The thesis analyzed the shortage of a traditional HLR's availability and expansibility, and proposed a distributed HSS design project suitable for converged network: Back Equipment( BE), the data center save all of the data of customer and business; Front Equipment( FE), the data business server( HLR, HSS, GUP, AAA, etc.) cache data into memory from the BE, and it support distributed expansibility.2. ALL kinds of data business server cache data from data center, so it demand a high availability for data center. This thesis introduces Oracle RAC as guarantee of high availability for data center. Analyzed and test availability, expansibility and load balance of the BE data center based on Oracle RAC.3. Aim at the high real-time demand of high-concurrence and high-visits in FE data business server, based on the study of in memory database TimesTen, used TimesTen cache data in memory from BE. This thesis designed a kind of high-available FE system, which based on Active/Standby+ Disaster Recovery, and made a simulation test in simple network environment.The subject this thesis research is applicable to design and implementation of HLR, HSS, etc. similar system of database, in future converged network, it also can smoothing evolve.
