With the development of information technology, computer technology as an important carrier of IT is experiencing constant update and development. Although PCI bus had been criterion for traditional computers and USB bus has been applied to many circumstances nowadays, computers are not always available in the areas like industry control and engineer practice because of the complex working environment and narrow working space, which leads to the creation of PC 104 bus for it has compact conformation and stack-style connection. In the field of controlling, there is a harsh requirement on system response time and many embedded operation systems cannot satisfy the hard real-time property in practical application. VxWorks which produced by Wind River company is the system with hard real-time property which has tremendous impact in embedded system.From application's point of view, this thesis focuses on creating a real-time visual system based on PC 104 embedded computer and embedded system VxWorks. First, it introduces the current status of embedded system and application of embedded system on real-time video capture and procession. Then, after analyzing and choosing software and hardware platform, we design a video capture module in accordance with PC 104 bus, which can conduct A/D transform and transmit video signal to computer. Logic control inside FPGA in video capture module is elaborated in detail. At last, we successfully transplant VxWorks by depl'oying BSP on embedded computer LX-3072 which and introduce its realization procedure; we also finish the drive program of video capture module under the environment of VxWorks. A complete real-time visual system platform is constructed finally.
