A Study Of Offering 'creative Graphics' Courses In Secondary School To Develop Creative Thinking Of Students

Under the long time guidance and influence of the exam-oriented education in the Mainland of China, currently, the level of creative thinking ability of secondary school students is generally low, and that of high school students is even lower than that of junior high school students. To change this situation, quality education should be fully implemented to develop students'creative thinking. The author of this article has been engaged in art education in secondary school for many years, and has offered a'creative graphics'course in a high school for three years to develop students' creative thinking.The creative graphics course is originally a basic professional course of art and design degree in art universities. Offering this course in a high school is a new attempt. Although the course is the same, middle schools are different with universities. This paper will recognize and learn the urgent requirements of offering creative graphics courses in secondary schools with considering characteristics of high school students, to study that how to exert the effect of creative graphics courses on developing students'creative thinking abilities. As regarding of the training objectives, the focus is to increase students'interests and imagination of creation to develop their creative abilities. As regarding of the design of teaching contents, it dose not simply pursuit systematic, but selects the most characteristic aspects of creative graphics as teaching anchors, in order to develop the creative thinking and learning interests of students. In regarding of teaching activities, it emphasizes to guide students to observe the real live and practice, and encourages students to show their characters in creating their creative graphics.This article will compare students'assignments before and after taking this course, to illustrate the improvement of the innovation consciousness and creative abilities. It will summarize the teaching experiences of developing students'creative thinking, and suggest improving advices for exiting problems.
