The Motivation theory is a science theory which to research and mobilize people's feelings and enthusiasm. We all need encouragement, which plays an important role to human behavior, and as a result, the motivation is considered "the greatest management principle". Motivation theory is receiving increasing attention in the field of education and teaching, the incentive teaching has become a wonderful work in quality education and a new wave of curriculum reform, but in history teaching,there are still a number of conventional incentives are not systematic and scientific.The application of the motivation theory in history teaching is an innovation attempt of curriculum management. On the contrary, the present history curriculum reform also provides an opportunity for the theory's application. This article was not to discuss the concrete teaching ways and means, but to research how to stimulate students' studying intention with motivation theory, and to improve the effectiveness of history teaching as well as to promote full-scale development of non-intelligence factors, such as the students' cognition level and the emotion will and so on.In view of the long-standing problems in history teaching such as a low-status, tires of study, this article is to illustrate how to apply the motivation theory reasonably with actual cases from Junior middle school to high school which come from my own Long-term teaching practice. It focuses on status of middle school history teaching, the differences and convergence of high-middle school, the studying Mentality of Science students, the general review of the third year, means to help less advanced students, etc. The main achievements include:it can improve students' awareness of the value of history from their own demands and the interests can be deepened; we can expect reasonably teaching goals of history subject due to students'situation and curriculum objects; Good learning habits need to be cultivated and strengthened; Optimization of the learning process needs fair assessment. Finally, it summarizes four principles of motivation theory applying in history teaching:historic, demand-focused, goal-oriented, humanism interaction.
