Study On The National Image Building In Large Performances And Exhibitions

Nowadays, the studies of shaping of national image have become a popular topic in counties. In the complexity of international relations, state image becomes very important to national interest. When a country interact with others, it always trying to symbolize the image which is benefits to itself, and win the recognition of the world to achieve their own best interests. In the varied forms of artistic shaping of national image, the large art performances and exhibitions would be the key means to spread and accept national image. This is not only a record of millstones in arts development, but also the key to spread the national image. As the progress of time and technological development, large art performances and exhibitions become more and more important in national image building.Firstly, based on the national image researching status, this article organizes the basic concept of national image, national image shaping, large art performances and exhibitions and others, and analyzes the basic properties and the real meaning of the large art performances and exhibitions. On this basis, this article proposes the four major advantages of large art performances and exhibitions in shaping national image: in favor of proposing identify-ability of national image, in favor of expanding the influence of national image, in favor of promoting the acceptance of national image, in favor of enhancing the permeability of national image. After that, this article obtains the basic principles of large art performances and exhibitions in shaping national image.Secondly, by researching the art elements of the large art performances and exhibitions in shaping the national image, this article proposes processes and basic policies of shaping national images via large performances and exhibitions. These basic policies are: the unify of the art images and official demands, the integration of traditional values and modern concepts, combination of demonstrating cultural and using technology. Finally, using Shanghai Expo as a example, this article studies how the large performances and exhibitions shape the national images.By researching the theory and practice of shaping the national images with large performances and exhibitions, this article helps people to enhancing the people's national identity and cohesion, promoting the national images.
