In recent years, under the double drives of national policy and industrial development, domestic animation industry has achieved unprecedented development opportunity. Animation, as one part of mass cultures, has significant and profound influences on the national image construction. The reason is that through storytelling, image shaping, and time characteristics showing, nowadays social visage and national image can be presented by animation.The main audiences of television animation in our country are children, who are not only in the time of learning knowledge and life skills, but also in the crucial time of building national consciousness, national confidence, and national identity and sense of belonging. In this thesis, using the content comparison method, the content analysis method, and the sampling analysis method etc. the authors investigate the plot and content of some popular cartoons in chosen television channels, like CCTV14 Children's Channel, Beijing Kaku Cartoon Channel, Jiangsu Youman Cartoon Channel and Shanghai Xuandong Cartoon Channel. After investigation, it is found that in recent years, domestic animation generally has weak and negative national image, which makes children unable to build national confidence and sense of belonging. This phenomenon will generate very bad effects on the grow up of children and development of country in the future.The article will use communication, psychology and art theory, explore the cartoon image of the country and the presentation can not form the root of highly recognized, in order to develop domestic animation to explore the domestic animation should enhance cultural awareness, update creative ideas, policy support and other practical strategies to create a positive national image of the strategy.
