Mini-fiction is usually overlooked due to its miniature size. Although Wang Meng, a prestigious writer in China, has special love of it, researchers still dismiss it as unimportance. To explain this phenomenon, in this paper, I make an exploratory study on the mini-fiction of Wang Meng. Based on the research now on hand, my study adopts a multi-dimensional perspective ranging from micro and macro views to the expression and acceptance of the fiction.First of all, I probe into the semantic context of Wang Meng's mini-fiction from the perspective of the object of narrative. Semantic context is a macro key element of the context, which decides the direction of textual expression. Second, I study the structure context of Wang Meng's mini-fiction from the perspective of conception. Structure is a key element of the context, working as an indispensable part of the text. Third, from the perspective of narrative, I study the linguistic denotation of Wang Meng's mini-fiction. Linguistic denotation is a micro key element of the context, directly participating in the textual expression. Last, the acceptance context of Wang Meng's mini-fiction will be studied from the spiritual perspective. Acceptance context provides the room for the generation of meaning, realizing the inner sublimation of the text.In addition to the context study from the macro and micro perspectives, the context is incorporated into the two-way interaction of expression and acceptance as well in order to achieve a more comprehensive and profound understanding of the fiction. The study of context interprets the "miniature" and "excellence" of Wang Meng's mini-fiction in a way of depth and breadth, and it develops the existing research to a certain extent.
