From the reconstruction of"cultural spirit"to the explore of"art spirit", Zong Baihua tried to theorize Chinese art philosophy. Harboring an exquisite feeling to culture, he made philosophical thinking and research on the national aesthetic performance and art forms. From the comparison of cultural heterogeneity to the exploration of Chinese aesthetic prototype, Zong finally made the academic return to the Native. Western philosophical training and exotic scenery worked as references for his Chinese art philosophy. With a deep cultural reflection, he pried into the spirits of Chinese minds. Started from artistic phenomenon, Zong made research on various artistic activities and successfully grasped the essence of art. Zong provides a new way of thinking to Chinese art philosophy. Life aesthetics, spiritual aesthetics, walking aesthetics…all these definitions are not enough to express the inherent richness of his thinking. Only by means of Zong Baihua's own research method can we get a tacit knowing of his ideas .Chinese aesthetic concept is the heart of Baihua's Chinese art philosophy. It is also his aesthetic questioning to the spirit of Chinese art. His unique academic thinking came under the influence of the outside-to-inside research method in General Art and the "prototype" concept in psychology. After the modification of Spengler "symbolic" theory and the insights to cultural philosophy, he internalized and formed his own academic thought. Zong put his research in the context of Chinese classical art, emphasizing the aesthetic mood of life sentiment. Gradually, "dance" based on the universal categories of art and the national character of the aesthetic quality became the foundation of Chinese estheticism. This paper, based on the inspiration of Zong's aesthetic ideas, combs the cultural context of Chinese art, studies its thorough practice, and further pursues its cultural function in our national history. This paper tries to discern the academic value the of Zong's aesthetic ideas in Chinese art philosophy. The put forward of "Dance" as the aesthetic foundation is the symbol of Chinese spiritual art forms. "Dance" contains a living aesthetic ideal, giving a multi-sensory imagination to aesthetic category theory. Combined the essence of "moving" and "dancing", it fully embodies the spirit of Chinese art, showing the "moving" texture of a seemingly motionless national thinking model. The fact is that Zong's idea is a new quality that he has endowed to the Chinese art. It is also a strong promotion to the modern transformation of Chinese aesthetics.
