Research And Development Of Information Management System Of Mobetron

IntraOperative Radiation Therapy (IORT) combine surgery and radiation therapy together, IntraOperative radiation therapy (IORT) is being investigated as a technique to deliver a high dose of radiation to a locally advanced tumor while attempting to protect adjacent normal tissues at the time of surgery. MOBETRON is made in U.S. by Intraop Medical Corp. It has changed the conventional way of doing IORT.With patented technology and unique design, MOBETRON has self radiation protection function, it can be used in regular OR, and it is moveable, so it has broken the technical bottle-neck of ordinary IORT treatment. This has greatly improve the clinical use of IORT treatment, in order to catch up with the precision requirement of modern radiation therapy technology and the demand of modern information management, this thesis research and develop the Information Management System of MOBETRON. It includes the MOBETRON operation management, MOBETRON Quality Assurance (QA) management, IORT Case management.MOBETRON is controlled by Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), but the Information Management System of MOBETRON is researched and developed based on computer technology. The Information Management System directly connect with the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), it can catch the instant information and interlock information of MOBETRON instantaneously and precisely. So it can do the MOBETRON operation Management.Quality Assurance (QA) is very important for radiation therapy equipment. The Information Management System that is designed and developed by the thesis has based on the real work condition of MOBETRON, it collect the standard parameter during the Customer Acceptance Test and Commissioning Test of MOBETRON and take them as the standard reference data, it can continually monitor the test result during the day to day Quality Assurance (QA), mainly focus on the Output of MOBETRON and the beam energy of MOBETRON. The Information Management System automatically records all the test result and compare them with the standard reference data by using the special statistical calculation to make sure that MOBETRON is in good condition or not. In this way the Information Management System of MOBETRON can fulfill the Quality Assurance (QA) management function perfectly.In order to let IntraOperative Radiation Therapy (IORT) become more effective for clinical treatment. The IORT Case Management of the Information Management System of MOBETRON can record all the related information of IORT Treatment, it has information management function and information query function, it also has statistical analysis data function, with all these function it can give the strong support for IORT clinical use.
