Objectiv:1.To investigate the expression of IL-8 and CXCR1 in adenomyosis for exploring the role of IL-8 and CXCR1 in the pathogenesis of adenomyosis. Methods:Immunohistochemistry SABC technique were used to detect the expression of IL-8 and CXCR1 in the eutopic and ectopic endometrium from 32 cases with adenomyosis (eutopic endometrium group and ectopic endometrium group) and in the normal endometrium of 28 cases without adenomyosis (control group). Results:The expression of IL-8 and CXCR1 were both mainly in cytoplasm of glandular epithelia. The expression of IL-8 in ectopic endometrium group is significantly higher than that in eutopic endometrium group and control group (P<0.01),and the expression in eutopic endometrium group is higher than that in control group (P<0.05). The expression of CXCR1 in ectopic endometrium group and eutopic group is significantly higher than that in control group (P<0.01), the expression of CXCR1 had no difference between eutopic endometrium group and ectopic endometrium group (P>0.05). The expression of IL-8 and CXCR1 had no difference between proliferative phase and secretory phase in the ectopic endometrium group, eutopic group and control group (P>0.05). The result of dependability analysis of IL-8 and CXCR1 in ectopic endometrium group discovered that coefficient correlation is 0.430,P=0.014, that coefficient correlation in eutopic endometrium group is 0.626,P=0.000,and indicate that the expression of IL-8 and CXCR1 in eutopic endometrium group and ectopic endometrium group are both positive correlation.Conclusions:1. The up regulation of IL-8 and CXCR1 in eutopic and ectopic endometrium in adenomyosis and the positively relationship between IL-8 and CXCR1 in adenomyosis suggest that IL-8 and CXCR1 may cooperatively play a role in the pathogenesis of adenomyosis.
