Objective:To study the relevance of autologous serum skin test (ASST) results and TCM patterns for the patients with chronic urticaria; To explore the difference in positive ASST results among the chronic urticaria patients with different TCM patterns; To select TCM dominant syndromes using self-blood therapy treatment to treat chronic urticaria based on differentiation in clinic.Methods:120 Patients diagnosed chronic urticaria were divided into four types according to TCM syndrome differentiation. They were wind-cold external syndrom (12cases),wind-heat external syndrom(33cases),damp-heat in gastrointestinal (35 cases), blood deficiency and wind dryness syndrom (40 cases). All the patients were tested with autologous serum skin test and there were positive and negative 2 results. Compared the different rate of ASST positive results among various TCM syndromes and came to the conclution that whether there was relevance between ASST positive results and TCM differentiation syndromesResults:1 There was statistic difference in the 4 ASST positive results among 4 TCM differentiation syndromes examed with chi-square test (P<0.05).2 The ASST positive reaults among 4 TCM differentiation syndroms were as following:18 in 40 cases whoes differentiation was blood deficiency wind dryness (55.00%);16 in 35 cases whoes differertiation was damp-heat in gastrointestinal (45.71%); 4 in 33 cases whoes differentiation was wind-heat external syndrom (12.12%); 1 in 12 cases whoes differentiaion was wind-cold external syndrom (8.33%).About the proportion blood deficiency and wind dryness held the maximum one while wind-cold did the minimum.3 The ASST-positive results in every pair groups:there was statistically significant difference compaired blood deficiency and wind dryness syndrom with wind-cold and wind-heat external syndrom (P<0.05); there was statistically significant difference compaired damp-heat in gastrointestinal with wind-heat and wind-cold (P<0.05); there was no statistically significant difference between blood deficiency and wind dryness syndrom and damp-heat in gastrointestinal (P> 0.05) as well as wind-heat and wind-cold external syndrom (P> 0.05).Conclusion:1.There was relevance between the ASST result and TCM dirrerentiation syndromes for the patients with chronic urticaria.2.The TCM differentiation of blood deficiency wind dryness and damp-heat in gastrointestinal were the dominant ones for the patients with chronic urticaria.
