The Study Of Effect On The Hemodynamics Of The End Of Internal Carotid Artery (ica) When Acupunture Weizhong Point

Objective:Examine the changes of the the end of internal carotid artery (ICA) blood speeds,the pulsation index and the resistance index (RI) number when acupuncture the Weizhong point by theTCD.At last,discuss the therapeutic mechanism and the effect of the acupunture of Weizhong point.At last,discuss the influence mechanism of the acupuneture of the Weizhong point to the brain blood quantity,clariyfy the relativity between needle insertion,needle retention and needle manipulation and withdraw the needles and the variety of the brain bloods,and provide the theories for the clinic.Methods:Subjects were10 normal young healthy volunteers (5 men,5 women,aged 22 years old to 27 years old,average age (24.3±1.77).Both Weizhong were punctured with a Chinese stainless steel needle.Depth of acupuncture was 15 millimeter.The diameter of the needle was 250μm.Then,We evaluated the peak velocity of systolic (Vs),the peak velocity of diastolic (Vd),the velocity of mean(Vm),the pulsation index (PI) and the resistance index (RI) of the end of internal carotid artery (ICA) before,during and after the acupuncture of Weizhong point by appling TCD.Results:The velocity of mean(Vm) of the end of internal carotid artery (ICA) obviously changed during the acupuncture of Weizhong point and 15 minutes after it.The peak velocity of diastolic (Vd) of the end of internal carotid artery (ICA) obviously changed during the acupuncture of Weizhong point. However,the pulsation index (PI) and the resistance index (RI) did not change obviously.In general,there was no significance in statistics.Conclusion:1.The acupuncture of Weizhong point could raise the peak velocity of diastolic (Vd) of terminal internal carotid artery (ICA) obviously.2.The velocity of mean(Vm) of the end of internal carotid artery (ICA) obviously changed during the acupuncture of Weizhong point and 15 minutes after it.3.The residual effect of acupuncture was not obvious.4.The acupuncture of Weizhong point can increase blood flow of the terminal internal carotid artery.
