Construction Of Index System Of Synthetic Evaluation On Academic Quality Of Medical Journal

Objective: The study is designed to synthetically evaluate the academic quality of medical journal. Fully understand practical meaning of each index, employ the integration of multiple indexes, establish synthesized index system which is simplified quantity analyze of journal.Methods: Information source issued by Chinese Academic Joumals Comprehensive Citation Report, 107 medical periodicals elicited from Chinese Academic Joumals Comprehensive Citation Report were recruited as subjects. 8 academic quality evaluation indexes were introduced into this study, which are article supported by fund rate, total citations, impact factor, immediacy index, 5 impact factor, cited ratio, article quantity and h-index. The weight of each data of 8 indexes was determined by synthetic evaluation based on variance, and then utilizes the weight index as the evaluation index. We use analytic hierarchy process to figure out the weighted value of the chosen index. Then, by using synthesized index model and sorting of periodical synthesized index, evaluation of periodicals was draw.Results: The most weighted value of 8 academic quality evaluation were immediacy index, article supported by fund rate and 5 impact factor, the sum of these 4 indexes reached the percentage of 98.9, which implies that they play a really important role. The very index which is synthesized by these 4 indexes scientifically and accurately manifests academic quality and standard of different periodicals.Conclusion: A synthesized evaluation index which composed of 4 evaluation indexes which simplified the evaluation on academic quality of medical periodicals. 4 indexes chosen by quantitative analyze base on the structure graph of the very system, the advantage of adopting quantitative approach is to eliminate the bias caused by subjective evaluation, strengthen the objectiveness and enhance the accuracy of periodical evaluation. The investigation into this index system was fulfilled by dynamic cluster, which further approved the logistic and better accordance of index system, which also points out the bias caused by imposing single index function can be eliminated by using synthesized index model.
