As we know ,some scientists have done a lot of research work on eco-suitability evaluation and planting regionalization of tobacco ,but we can also find out that their studies is often limited in one or several areas and factors ,which are almost the macroscopically factors .On the other hand ,we know that many other factors can influence the tobacco growth and develop .Taking into account these factors ,they are vary complex and numerous even impossible if we continue to use the previous ways and routine means .With development of the computer ,especially rapid progress of GIS ,it is possible to consider so many factors to evaluate the eco-suitability of tobacco.Based on the integrated comment of the theories, methods and research status of suitability evaluation at home and abroad, and the investigation and analysis of terrains and landforms conditions,with technical platform of GIS .Finally, the application of results to establish regionalization project can direct local tobacco production.According to the tobacco growth and the conditional relation, combine the actual circumstance, in consideration of the special geography environment and geography condition in Yunnan province, selected 3 evaluation indexes, they are elevation, slope, aspect, and the model introduces method of AHP to value the weight, and sets up the mathematics model for the tobacco ecosystem evaluation. In GIS by adoption the established evaluation model of ecological suitability, the land in Yunnan province was divided into four suitable grades .The land of the most suitable grades is 76,405 square km; the land of suitable grades is 134,255 square km; the land of hypo-suitable grades is 49,841 km. Based on the result ,make use of ARCGIS platform, the SQL Server database management tool, developed a system to realize the theories of eco-suitability evaluation and planting regionalization of tobacco, the system can carry out spatial analysis function.
