| Three local cultivars of Zhejiang Native Chinese Medicine Coix Lacryma-jobi L. were selected for mutation breeding by 60-Cobalt gamma irradiation. Two new lines with high yielding and good quality were developed. The fingerprinting for effective components in Semen Coici was investigated, in order to provide a new indicator and method for breeding selection. The auxiliary cultivation techniques and extension strategies were tentatively explored for the high yielding and good quality new lines. The major results were as follows:(1) The optimal dose and rate of 60-Cobalt gamma irradiation for dry seeds of Coix Lacryma-jobi L. were 450 Gy and 10Gy/min, respectively.(2) Two new lines with high yielding and good quality were developed, which had significant increase in yield potential with 14.1% and 10.9%, in 1000 grain weights with 15.8% and 13.9%, in triolein content with 6.5% and 9.6% increases, compared to those of the highest local cultivar in Taishun.(3) The fingerprinting for effective components in Semen Coici was developed by the HPLC, which will provide a new indicator and method for breeding selection.(4) The auxiliary cultivation techniques for the high yielding and good quality new lines were developed and its corresponding extension strategies were suggested. |
