Ornamental Bamboo Introduction And Garden With Landscape Applications

Bamboo could give elegant impression with its graceful, elegant and charming appearance and sentimental virtue with the diligency and never wither all the year around. So, it has been a fine ornament to decorate houses and afforest gardens from of old.In this study, 77 genus ornamental bamboos from Fujian and Zhejiang were introduced into Longyan, Fujian Provence to constitute bamboo garden, and the morphological and growing processed were observed. The results of 6-year culture experiment and application showed that 73 genus ornamental bamboos could adapt to the natural environment of Longyan. After comprehensive quantitive computeral processing, including analysis of variance, cluster analysis, principal component analysis, the 73 genus ornamental bamboos could be divided into 5 classes. Among them, classâ… andâ…¡could mostly adapt to the environment of Longyan; classâ… have 8 genus and classâ…¡have 14 genus good ornamental bamboos.The different morphological genus ornamental bamboos, high or low, could be divided into 6 classes according to the different function, which could be applied in afforesting gardens. The paper also gave the typical applications and point out the 8 principles for application of view-designing in gardens, which were straight, understandable and easy to apply in the design of garden.
