Influence Of Different Leves Of Dietary Potassium On Digestibility And Metabolism Of Nutrients And Serum Calcium Balance Status Of Xinjiang Finewool Sheep

Abstract/Summary:
Three experiments were conducted to research the influence of different leves of potassium in diets on rumen fermentation,apparent digestibility of nutrients and serum ion balance status.Experiment 1. Four heads of Xinjiang Finewool wether sheep were chosen.a single factorial trial was designed and In vitro gas production was determined to study high potassium levels dietary deriving from potassium carbonate for influence of rumen fermentation of sheep.Fermentation substrate was divided into 4 groups. A was control group (control diet),B group(control diet +538mg/kg),C group(control diet +1084mg/kg),D group (control diet +1631mg/kg), enables four group of potassium levels respectively to achieve 1.4%,1.8%,2.2%and 2.6%.The results show that, Compared with A group,at level of 1.8% and 2.2% potassium significantly increased gas production of 72 hours(p<0.01).With increasing levels of potassium, Take the ascend in the degradation of DM and NDF and then decreased,and in 2.2% reached highest-level,the differences in the all groups were not significant (P>0.05);The degradation of ADF also reached highest-level in 2.2%, compared with A group,reached a significant level (P<0.05),in the rest of groups, the differences were not significant (P>0.05);With increasing levels of potassium,Take the ascend about pH in the rumen of sheep and then decreased,but the differences in the all groups were not significant (P>0.05);Concentration of NH3-N,carboxymethylcellulase activity and xylanase activity were not significant in the all groups(P>0.05); Acetic acid reached highest-level at 1.8%, compared with A group, reached a significant level (P<0.05), but the differences in the all groups were not significant; Concentration of propionate,butyrate and TVFA also reached highest-level at 1.8%,compared with other groups, the differences were not significant (P>0.05);The ratio of acetic acid/propionate was most close to 3:1 at 1.8%,but the difference among the groups did not notable(P>0.05).Experiment 2.4 heads of Xinjiang Finewool wether sheep were choosen and 4 x4 Latin square experiment design was utilized to study high Potassium leves dietary deriving from potassium carbonate for influence of nutrient apparent digestibility of sheep. Test was divided into four groups. A was control group (control diet),B group (control diet +538mg/kg),C group(control diet +1084mg/kg), D group (control diet +1631mg/kg), enables four group of potassium levels respectively to achieve 1.4%,1.8%,2.2%and 2.6%. The results show that, Compared with A group,the digestibility of the whole digestive tract of dry matter, organic matter, crude protein, crude fat, acid detergent fiber and neutral detergent fiber have a tendency to increase in B, C and D group.However,all the differences were not significant (P>0.05); Apparent digestibility of potassium and sodium increased, with increasing levels of potassium, compared with A group, potassium C and D group reached a significant level (P<0.05); but for sodium,have a significant level (P<0.01), in the rest of groups, the differences were not significant (P>0.05);Take the ascend in the apparent digestion of calcium and then decreased, but the difference was not significant (P> 0.05); Apparent digestibility of phosphorus with increasing levels of potassium also increased, but the difference was not significant (P> 0.05).Experiment 3. Four heads of Xinjiang Finewool wether sheep were chosen and 4×4 Latin square experiment design was utilized to study high Potassium levels dietary deriving from potassium carbonate for influence of Physiological Biochemical Indices in serum and urine of sheep. Test was divided into 4 groups. A was control group (control diet),B group (control diet +538mg/kg),C group(control diet+1084mg/kg), D group (control diet+1631mg/kg), enables four group of potassium levels respectively to achieve 1.4%,1.8%,2.2%and 2.6%. The results show that,calcium concentrations in sheep serum with increasing levels of potassium decreased, but the differences were not significant (P>0.05); phosphorus concentrations in sheep serum with increasing levels of potassium also increased, the differences in the all groups were not significant (P>0.05);potassium and sodium concentrations in sheep serum with increasing levels of potassium have a tendency to decrease, the differences in the all groups were not significant (P>0.05);magnesium concentrations in all groups were not significant, magnesium concentrations in C group was lower than A,B,D group,but the differences were not significant (P>0.05); Hydroxyproline concentrations in all groups were not significant, Hydroxyproline in B group was lower than A,C,D group,but the differences were not significant (P>0.05).Urine pH in sheep with increasing levels of potassium increased,in the A,B,C group have a significant differences (P<0.01), in the A,B,D group also have a significant differences (P<0.01),in the C,D group,the differences were not significant (P>0.05). calcium concentrations in sheep urine with increasing levels of potassium decreased, but the difference was not significant in groups (P> 0.05); phosphorus concentrations in sheep urine with increasing levels of potassium decreased, the differences were not significant (P>0.05); potassium concentrations in sheep urine with increasing levels of potassium have a tendency to increase, the differences in A,D group were significant (P<0.05), in the rest of groups, the differences were not significant (P>0.05); sodium and magnesium concentrations in sheep urine with increasing levels of potassium also have a tendency to increase, the differences were not significant (P>0.05); Hydroxyproline concentrations with increasing levels of potassium also increase, but the differences were not significant (P>0.05).
