Design And Implementation Of The Handy-rsu Platform

Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) is the advancing edge research project in the traffic and transportation field around the world. It rounds up of the information technology, communications technology, computer technology, control technique and so on, which deeply reform the tradition traffic and transportation system. ITS improves the service efficiency of the system's resources, the security of the system, and in the meanwhile, it decreases the consumption of the resources and the environment pollution.After the analysis of market demand on the ITS, this paper have implemented a Handy-RSU system, which is one product using in the ITS. And it mainly does research on the design and implement the base low-level system of the Handy-RSU, which is the core proportion of the Handy-RSU system.On the hareware platform, we chose the S3C2410A MCU as the base platform, and expand some peripheral devices which are needed by this Handy-RSU system. And base on this hareware platform, we implement the fuction modules which are need by this Hand-RSU system, including display, touchscreen and keyboard which using for interactiving with users, and the IC card reader module for handling the IC card, also the camera module which for taking photoes.This Handy-RSU base platform takes advantage of the Linux system to implement the base fuctions which are required by the Handy-RSU system. What's more, we do much work to overcome the shortcomings of the Linux system when using on the embedded platform. We optimize the start-flow of the system, apply the new process scheduling algorithm and interrupt threading technology, improving power management module, the all of these work improves the system's boot-up speed and responsive ability, prolongs the systme's work-time.At last, we do much test on the Handy-RSU. The test results indicated that, it provides the functions required by handy RSU and meanwhile the performance is perfect, which achieved the design requirements.
