With the continuously development of the technology related to UAV (unmanned air vehicles), UAV now is becoming a great branch of the aviation area to develop. It can be widely used and has a great prospect both in military and civil field. To simulate and study UAV flight by its flight simulation can get better kown to its flight function and will help to improve the mission planning, it is an important auxiliary way to study UAV and perform military training.Considered the visualization of flight scene and data for UAV as the research object, the research on related technology such as flight movement of UAV, establishment of the three dimension terrain, visualization of the flight data, driving of the scene, etc has been carried out. Furthermore, Vega Prime and Microsoft Visual Studio.NET are treated as the platform to develop so that the simulation has been realized.The coordinate system, speed, altitude and all the parameters related to the UAV flight has been introduced during the research on the UAV flight movement. The movement model of the UAV has been discussed as well and the solution to its movement equations has been provided.The flight scene is displayed in the form of three dimension terrain. The terrain frame is set up by the digital elevation model and the texture projection is undertaken by using the processed remote sensing image. The completed terrain seems like real terrain and it is saved as a MetaFlight file for the later simulation.Visualization of the flight data has been conducted in two ways. One way is to set the observer outside the UAV so that both the flying process and the flight information in the moment can be seen. The UAV model is developed by Creator. Since some operators complain that the display interface of UAV flight data is not reasonable and they believe that it would be more convenient if the interface is designed to be a shape like cockpit. The interface of a cockpit form might be a developing direction in the future. Therefore, the other way is to display the flight data in an environment like cockpit. The related flight data is demonstrated in a head-up display and some virtual meters. The head-up display is developed by OpenGL and the virtual meters are developed by GL Studio.This dissertation has realized the simulation of flight scene and data visualization for UAV. Carrying out simulation in this way is more vivid and efficient than the traditional way. Though there are some performances still can be improved, it is of some practical value.
