Because of its high control accuracy, good stability, low cost and strong anti-pollution traits, Electro-hydraulic proportional valve has been more and more widely used. The dynamic response characteristics are important indicators to measure Electro-hydraulic proportional system design and debug level. With the continuous development of electro-hydraulic technology, it has higher requirement.This paper treats Eaton ZTS16 electro-hydaulic proportional valve as research object, analyses the composition structure and working principle, builds mathematical model of this valve. In Matlab/Simulink simulation environment, the applications of PID parameter tuning in the industrial area which the most widely used Ziegler-Nichols tuning method of PID controller tuning parameters, to conventional PID control on the electro-hydraulic proportional main valve spool position. On this basis, Application of Step Response Specifications module which is the step response of PID optimization module of Matlab, to optimize PID parameters and simulation results showed that the conventional PID control strategy can not meet the control requirements.The introduction of CMAC-PID control strategy to design the CMAC-PID compound controller, and CMAC-PID compound control simulation results show that the strategies of CMAC-PID compound control ZTS16 main valve spool position of electrohydraulic proportional can meet the requirements of control, and has a good dynamic response and robustness.Applied Simulink, Amesim, Adams joint co-simulation methods, to establish the joint co-simulation model which is including three-part of modal, there are dynamic model of excavator, ZTS 16 electro-hydraulic proportional valve hydraulic system model and the CMAC-PID control strategy model, and the simulation results show that the CMAC-PID control strategy used in electric-hydraulic proportional main valve spool position control of excavator is effective.Finally, through the experimental platform of CAN-bus structures, application Eaton ZTS 16 electro-hydraulic proportional valve control software Eaton Control F(x), write control program and download to the ECU of ZTS16 electro-hydraulic proportional valve. By monitoring software of Valve F(x) output phase step signal and record ZTS16 step electro-hydraulic proportional valve step response curves, experimental results have proved that the mathematical model, simulation models which the paper established are correct and CMAC-PID control strategy is effective.
