With the development of the high-speed development of our country economy, the engineering machinery industry developed rapidly, more and more high request were put forward to control performance of the hydraulic system in engineering machinery. So the application of electro-hydraulic proportional valve on engineering machinery became more and more widespread. Our nation was abuzz with develop electro-hydraulic proportional valve. But due to the lack of the research on internal flow characteristics of electro-hydraulic proportional valve, the research is only confined to some simple imitation. So all aspects of technology are still falling behind. In order to make up for the deficiency of electro-hydraulic proportional valve in china, in this paper.the characteristics of a type electro-hydraulic proportional valve are deeply studied by the method of combining theoretical analysis with numerical simulation,and the application of electro-hydraulic proportional valve was discussed. It provides a certain theoretical basis for the development of multi-way valve.The three-dimensional model of within electro-hydraulic proportional valve ZTS16 was established in this paper. The grid mesh of model is generated by ICEM CFD. The fields about pressure, velocity, velocity vector, turbulent kinetic energy and so forth within the electro-hydraulic proportional valve were analyzed by computational fluid dynamics software Fluent. A detailed description of flow characteristic within electro-hydraulic proportional valve is given. By analytic geometry, the orifice area was analyzed and calculated, and the method to calculate orifice area was determined. The pressure drop in different condition was get by computer simulation.The pressure drop characteristic of the electro-hydraulic proportional valve was researched. The flow coefficient on valve port of the electro-hydraulic proportional valve was analyzed, which furnishes a proper reference for the optimal design for electro-hydraulic proportional valve. The steady flow force of electro-hydraulic proportional valves was researched by combining the theoretical calculation with the flow field simulation. The steady flow force of the electro-hydraulic proportional valve was calculated by FLUENT, and then we acpuired the characteristic curve of steady flow force. This work give us a significant guiding meaning for the operation and control of electro-hydraulic proportional valve.The work principle of traditional excavator and its partial functional loop is analyzed in detail. Reference to the performance parameters of valve units and traditional excavator, the AMEsim model of hydraulic control module system is built.The possibility of realizing flow regeneration function and flow first function in hydraulic control module system of excavator.After series of research on the characteristics of the electro-hydraulic proportional valve, this article provides a certain theoretical guide and referance for structure optimization, accurate control flow, noise reduction, energy conservation of the electro-hydraulic proportional valve and the precise matching of driving system of boom spool. Moreover, it provides a new idea to the research on characteristics and application of electro-hydraulic proportional valve, and decrease the development period of hydraulic valves and the cost, which provide a theoretical reference on its the research and developmet.
