Rotary drilling rig is a kind of large electro-hydraulic equipment which is widelyused in construction of bridges, high-speed railways, civil and construction and so on. Themast is a very important part in the adjusting system when it is erected or in the drillingprocess. This paper makes a deep research on the mast regulation system.Firstly, analyzethe two structure of a conventional form of two adjustment mechanism and make a staticanalysis of drilling mast parallelogram structure and this make a preparation for the finiteanalysis.Second, make an analysis on the parallelogram structure mast with the ANSYSWorkbench. The method is separate the entire system and put load on each componentindividually to analyze. By making a finite element analysis, we can clearly see thestructure of the various parts of the stress, strain and deformation.The analysis can be aguide of the next design and make a preparation for its lightweight. After the research ofthe mast working conditions, we are ready for the design of the hydraulic system bygetting the relationship of the lifting power and hydraulic cylinder stretching amount. Wealso analyze the contemporary synchronous hydraulic system and choose the mostreasonable load sensing system solutions, and make a detail description of the mechanismof load sensing and pressure compensation principles and how to achieve the twinsynchronized. Then study the drilling mast regulation system using the method ofelectro-hydraulic closed-loop position control to achieve a drilling mast verticality systemautomatically adjusted. This system has great significance for the vertical bore holes intothe quality and efficiency, and it also meet the market’s requirements on the constructionquality, efficiency and automation. While the results of the study can be applied onengineering machinery vertical adjustment and other functions of the control.Finally,using one rotary drilling rig for the experimental platform for the experimental study toverify the performance of the load-sensing system synchronization when the mast is lifting.While test the drilling mast auto vertical system with a PID control, and adjust itsparameters, records, and compare it with theoretical values to verify the feasibility of themethod.
