In this paper, the control system applied to Digital Shadowgraph system which is used in Ballistic range was researched. The control system can automatically measure the velocity of the flying object, calculate delay parameters and control the CCD cameras to exposure at the right time to capture three sequence shadow photographs of the flying object and get some other related experiment data.The measurement of velocity, attitude angles and spatial coordinates and other parameters of projectile flight used to calculate aerodynamic coefficients were determined according to the aerodynamic coefficients calculation method.Based on Industrial computer technology, the Digital Shadowgraph controller was achieved which contains a control card and three PCI Ethernet cards. The control card was built with PCI9052 interface chip and FPGA which achieves the logical functions of the card.The WDM driver of the control card is developed with the platform of DDK. Based on GTK+the system control program has a wonderful UI and it can control each Digital Shadowgraph controllers in the whole shadowgraph system effectively based on Ethernet communication technology.Finally, the controller was applied in the Digital Shadowgraph station and was tested. The digital shadowgraph system capture the flying projectile's three sequence shadow photographs successfully and the moving parameters was obtained by images process. The experiment shows that the digital shadowgraph controller is very practical and valuable in the digital shadowgraph system and it will take important role in the digital ballistic range.
