| The development of modern society not only promotes a trend of global network of cities, but also makes the city's internal structure and shape increasingly diverse and complex. The coexistence of "cities in network" and "network in cities" is the inevitable trend of urban development in the modern world. How to accurately grasp and cognitive the characteristics of the network of cities and understand the law of space development from the numerous and complex appearance is one of the important thesis of urban space in new century.This study's focus is on "network in city", that is, cities with "space" as the carrier of the "network." The article sums up the main theory and methodology of the urban network space and define the term of "network" from the perspective of urban space with an emphasis on the urban network of multi-dimensional perspective and urban systems concept of cyberspace.As a theoretical basis and based on the characteristics of Chinese cities, especially the relevant evidence in Changsha City, this paper gives the identification and evaluation studies focusing on the micro- level of the urban system. This study reveals the morphological and physiological characteristics of the internal urban network space that help evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of specific region and identify regional development goals which in turn, to guide specific urban planning. This paper wants to make some contributions to explore China's urban planning theory and methods. |
