The BGC100 model Slag Pot Carrier is a huge shape, a very high technological machinery product, used in open steel slag processing site for the short distance transport. As a special purpose vehicle, because of the limitations of the use, The Slag Pot Carrier is needed less than the highway vehicle. The foreign Slag Pot Carrier technology is relatively mature; the development of the domestic Slag Pot Carrier began later. It has been over thirty years, since the Slag Pot Carrier was fetched in. The work conditions of the Slag Pot Carrier are very bad, and the system of itself is very complex, so the structures of the truck are easily broken, it can't mean the need of the structures design using the usual methods, so it is very important to use the developed design methods for the structures design.The research contents in this paper come from the project of "Structural optimization of the Slag Pot Carrier", a cooperative item between CARRIE Heavy Industry Machinery Co, Ltd & College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of Central South University. According to the research task and research status on domestic and foreign of the project, theoretical study and computer simulation analysis and experimental study are taken as the research means in this paper. With the Slag Pot Carrier to study, its frame 3D geometric model is established with the 3D software Pro/E, and the finite element model of whole Slag Pot Carrier, rear frame, arm are established with the large-scale commercial finite element software ANSYS. The static strength and modal of the Slag Pot Carrier are studied with the finite element method and processed with a testing.The main contents of the degree thesis are as follows:First, the rear frame and arm are processed with the static analysis in these cases of holding, transporting and pouring pot. Research on whether the strength and stiffness of Slag Pot Carrier agree well with the basic design requirements.Second, the Slag Pot Carrier which is improved is processed with the static analysis when the strength of it agrees well with the basic design requirements.Third, determine the natural frequency of vibration and vibration modals of the Slag Pot Carrier, and find the vibration control.Fourth, the tests for the Slag Pot Carrier are accomplished by using the modern static testing technology, to verify the theoretical calculation.All above mentioned research contexts, methods and conclusions are helpful to the Structural optimization and reduce weight of the BGC100 model Slag Pot Carrier.
