The garden-bridge is a very individual architecture style in Chinese traditional garden arts. The art has been passed for several thousand years, and the designs of garden-bridge also have been changed to have rich-types, variety of forms, completeness of functions , and rational of spaces. There are still some problems in the garden design of modern landscape design. This article gives some methods to addreess these problems, and also study in taditional garden art, then find a new way of the traditional and development, in order to do some meaningful research into bridge style of the modern landscape design.First of all, the article starts with the conception of garden-bridge, during working on this, traceback how did the garden-bridge changed in chinese history, and what was the primitive type. Then set the character of traditional garden-bridge for target, studying from five ceptions of the site selection, the modality, the structure, the function and the space, and from all these researches, we want to find out the meaningness and useness of garden-bridge of the garden design art. Finally, afer the author's investigation and analyze of current situation of morden garden-bridge design,pointing out the problems that the traditional arts in morden garden-bridge design in use of the modern landscape design. Tradition and modernity by exploring the differences and linkages between, trying to put forward a set of both of our Chinese traditional context, but also for the design requirements of modern landscape design principles of the Park Bridge and the proposals for the development of traditional garden art in the modern bridge design landscape design inheritance and development.
