The domestic and overseas status in quo and the developing trend of Automatic Grenade Launcher(AGL) were introduced in this paper.Based on the existing AGL,a general project has been studied out for designing a new kind of AGL with higher launching velocity.In order to resolve the contradiction between the velocity of bullet and the recoil of weapon system,five different mount setting scenarios have been offered in this paper.Based on the Classical interior ballistics theory and Weapon gas dynamics theory,a mathematics model of the interior ballistics and gas system has been estabilished. We can match the velocity of bullet and the pressure of powder gas perfectly through rectifing different characteristic parameters in this model.Then the reasonable pressure value of powder gas under different initial velocity situation can be calculate.On the basis of multi-rigid body system dynamics,the virtual prototypes of the kind of AGL with different mount setting scenarios have been establishes in the simulation software ADAMS.This paper has computed the movement laws of the bolt body and gun body of the AGL,some key parameters were studied deeply.Through compared the result of different mount setting scenarios,the best answers to resolve the contradiction have been found.Using some FEA softwares such as Patran and Nastran to build the finite element model of the mount,and do the analysises to realize the static characteristic and the dynamic characteristic of the mount.Modal analysis of the weapon system is carried out and natural frequencies and modes of the system are received.By analysis those preferences we can realize how they can affect the stability of the system.The obtained results in this Paper are significant importance for enhancing designing quality of automatic weapons.
